ABOUT

The Benyon Estate

The Benyon Estate in Hackney’s De Beauvoir Town is a family-owned, family-run estate known for its attractive 19th century houses with generous gardens, wide, tree-lined streets and a friendly, village environment. With an N1 postcode, De Beauvoir Town borders Islington to the east and Dalston to the west.

While only two miles from Bank, and easily accessible from the City of London and the so-called Silicon Roundabout tech hub, De Beauvoir Town is regarded as something of a well-kept secret. The lack of Tube station has bequeathed the area with a strong local identity and friendly, proactive community.

Harry Davies – owner and founder, The De Beauvoir Deli
There's a real community feel here, and that is part of the Benyon Estate's approach which has made a real difference to the area.

Taking a roughly rectangular shape, the properties that we own and lease are dotted throughout the streets but are immediately recognisable by our livery of Benyon Blue-painted front doors. Some of our residents have lived on the estate for over 80 years; others are here for just two or three. But with our onsite team of contractors and a rolling programme of improvements, we strive to make sure that service to tenants is second to none and the upkeep of the properties is first-rate.

The dedicated estate management team are based in Southgate Road. Led by Edward Benyon, we have a broad range of property management expertise looking after our commercial and residential tenants as well as collaborating on plans for the future. From the office manager to the estate manager we are just twelve people. But that’s also our strength. Some of the team have been working on the estate for years; those that haven’t are soon familiar faces on the streets. We don’t want to be faceless administrators – we care that our tenants get a personal service. The team operates very much like a family and we all know what’s going on. It means that we strive to meet any emergency and solve any problem to make the experience of being a tenant of The Benyon Estate as comfortable and as seamless as possible.
