An important contribution to making De Beauvoir Town look as attractive as possible is ensuring that the gardens on our properties are always maintained in good order.
While overall responsibility for landscaping lies with Jennifer Benyon, the day-to-day upkeep is managed by Ed Taylor and Alex Drew, of local firm Kingsland Gardens, who have been working with The Benyon Estate since 2014.
Kingsland Gardeners represent continuity in our contractors: prior to establishing the firm, Ed worked with Tom, our previous gardener (and a well-known face in De Beauvoir Town as he grew up in the area).
Ed and Alex are generally to be found somewhere on the estate pretty much every day of the week given that they look after just over 100 front gardens of our properties. “The Benyon Estate clearly care that their gardens are well maintained,” explains Ed.
“Making sure that the gardens are in good shape makes a significant contribution to the local streetscapes – it’s something that lots of people comment on.”
When residential tenancies come to an end, Kingsland Gardeners will also go and do any necessary tidy ups in the back gardens which vary in size from small patios measuring 1m x 3m to larger ones of 10m x 30m.
“Sometimes, it’s a case of just cutting back and tidying things up,” adds Alex. “But when the estate is carrying out a refurbishment of a property, they will take the opportunity to entirely re-landscape the garden. And that’s when we work with Jen.
Together, we draw up plans, always bearing in mind that attractive and low-maintenance gardens are ideal for tenants.”
