We were happy to see familiar faces at our annual festive afternoon tea party, which saw our long-standing residents come together for a cosy, pre-Christmas catch-up.

Guests gathered at the Block café, run by Albers, and were well looked after by Scott and his team, who created a delicious menu which included a selection of sandwiches, mince pies, homemade scones, and warm mulled wine.

The afternoon tea provided a great opportunity for everyone to sit down together, relax and catch up.

Joining the guests were Edward and Jennifer, Sheanay, Kathleen, and Lali. We were also pleased to see Vanessa and Laila, our former team members, who popped in to say hello!

Sheanay said: “This is always a very special time of the year and as a team, we really enjoy planning this gathering. Christmas can be a lonely time for some, so it is wonderful to arrange something that can bring our residents together during the festive period and to thank them for playing a pivotal role in our community.”

Guests included Joan Miller, who has lived on the Estate for more than 50 years. She raised a family with her late husband, Stan, in Ufton Road, where she still lives today. She continues to be a central part of life in De Beauvoir Town, enjoying fitness classes, line dancing, Women’s Institute meetings, and the Friday lunches in the crypt of St Peter’s Church.

Edward added: “It was so lovely to see our long-standing residents for the annual Tea Party and to catch up with many who have been a part of life here for such a long time. We’re proud of the close community on the Benyon Estate and grateful to all those who support events like this.”
