Chris Sacker, 70, has lived in De Beauvoir for 33 years and says when his brother-in-law put his name down for a home on the Benyon Estate “It was the best thing he has ever done for me.”

The father of four says raising his children in the area was “really lovely.” In a special video recording made by the Benyon Estate to tell the stories of some of its longest standing residential tenants, Chris, says he knows all his neighbours. “They all look after each other,” he says.”

He praises the work of the Benyon Estate maintenance teams who have installed a new kitchen and bathroom in his home and refurbished a bedroom, providing up to date facilities in a building with great character and heritage.

Chris says what he loves most about his home in De Beauvoir is the history behind it. “It’s part of England…it’s history,” he says. “This is how you keep it!”
