Sweet treats without the guilt
Süss is an online Cake Studio in East London that specialises in natural dessert tables, wedding cakes and bespoke celebration cakes.
Süss, from the German for ‘sweet’, is a nod to Founder and Head Baker Julia Aden’s German heritage. Julia began her baking career in Germany, before moving to London having been fascinated by the sweet treats it has to offer.
She worked at renowned bakeries across the city, including De Beauvoir local the Violet Café, before taking the leap and opening her own online cake studio.
“Everything we bake is created with mindful ingredients, cutting down on sugar where we can and supporting local organic suppliers to make treats that are good for the planet and your body,” Julia explained.

Julia is supported by business partner Kieran Johnson, who also works for Line Animation, one of our tenants at the De Beauvoir Block. Marketing volunteer Laura Ridley-Willis completes the Süss team.
Süss creates bespoke cakes, including wedding and celebration cakes, as well as a natural dessert table offering. Highly customisable, the tables feature a spread of treats, tailored to suit your theme, numbers and ideas.
“Our natural dessert table concept will put your celebration cake of choice at the centre, surrounded by a selection of smaller cakes and treats and decorated in your desired style,” Julia explained.
“It’s a memorable experience and a sure-fire way to ensure every guest gets a piece of cake they desire. Many of our treats are made with a little nod to my German heritage, hence why the black forest cake is one of our all-time favourites!”
Süss has more recently expanded its offering to include sweet table boxes – a selection of organic, low-sugar treats ideal for a celebration – and lunchbox cakes, individual cakes that can be delivered through the letterbox.
Julia has lived and worked in De Beauvoir for the majority of her time in London. “I know what a great place it is to be and love the community feel that it has,” she added. Now based in Leyton, she still feels a connection to the area.
