The popular Crown and Manor Club – a youth club for boys aged 8 to 18 – has opened its all-new junior club.

Designed for boys aged six to 11 years old, the Crown and Manor Junior Club offers after-school sessions in a wide range of sports, including football, dodgeball, hockey, and tag rugby, as well as board games and arts and crafts sessions.

Running from 3:30pm until 5:30pm, the members must complete half an hour of school work before the sports and recreation begins, whether that be catching up on homework or reading.

Running after school on Mondays to Wednesdays from 21st February 2022, the junior club is an extension of the historic Crown and Manor Club, which dates back to 1939.

Located on Wiltshire Row on the banks of the Regents Canal, the organisation is a space for boys and young men in the area to work, play and relax, learning new skills, playing sports, and getting support with their studies in a supportive environment.

As with the main club, the Junior Club costs just £1 per day, making sessions as accessible as possible.

Jason Mason, who leads the Junior Club, said: “It’s all about giving primary school boys space to both work and enjoy themselves, providing after-school support for parents too.

“We’re open to all boys aged six to 11 in the area who want to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and have a safe and welcoming place to come.”

The Junior Club is run entirely by volunteers, local people with a passion for youth work and supporting the next generation. They will be supported by the club’s three full-time and eight part-time staff.

The Junior Club is now open for members! Visit the Crown and Manor website to find out more: www.crownandmanor.org.uk
